One of my favorite movies as a kid was the Disney classic, Old Yeller. Set in post-Civil War Texas, Old Yeller is basically a movie about a young boy and his friendship with a lovable Labrador retriever. While the majority of the plot centers around the boy and his family, the film dabbles in a little bit of everything: the tomfoolerous prepubescent antics of the boy’s younger brother, wild boar hunting, bear attacks, rabid cows, and, of course, Yeller himself…the best doggone dog in the West. The recent spark in the Minnesota Twins 2011 season has me perusing over the last couple decades of Minnesota sports teams and notable turnarounds. Gophers football fans grew tired of shoveling BS awhile ago. Brewster gave us far too much of it, which is why new head coach Jerry Kill is a breath of fresh air.
