Who are we? Northern Illinois? When the Minnesota Golden Gophers football team beat the Iowa Hawkeyes this past weekend, I was elated. Number 1–it was a win. A ‘W’ is always a good thing, especially in the Big Ten. It was the first of the season. It also meant Floyd of Rosedale was staying put. Keeping the pig in place. Another reason for celebration. It was a busy week off the field in Minnesota Sports. The Twins decided not to pick up Joe Nathan’s $12.5 million option and instead buy him out for $1 million. They still hope to re-sign him once he tests the free agent market. Vikings DE Brian Robison has been hounded on his Twitter page for kicking Green Bay guard T.J. Lang in the crotch last Sunday.
