While surfing Facebook earlier today, I came across a YouTube video posted by one of my friends. The video highlighted the dunking exploits of high-flying phenom Terrell Cournoyea (a.k.a. TDub) out of Saint Paul. Ever the hoops junkie, I couldn’t resist the temptation. I clicked on the link and burned five minutes, hoping to get a bit of entertainment squeezed into my lunch hour. For those who saw Kevin Love Sunday afternoon, they might not have pegged him for an All-Star athlete headed for Amway Center. Dressed in a snazzy black tuxedo and bow tie, Love carried his 6’10” frame in the spirit of the Oscars. And while he may not have won an Academy Award, the UCLA alum—along with rookie teammates Derrick Williams and Ricky Rubio—found plenty of success over the 2012 NBA All-Star Weekend in Orlando. We’ve reached the mid-point of the NBA season, and your Minnesota Timberwolves are sitting pretty with a respectable 17-17 record. If the number 17 seems familiar, that’s because it was the total number of wins the Wolves had in 82 games last season.
