Chase-ing a Win: Welcome Chase Budinger

When I saw the news that Minnesota had traded away its No. 18 draft pick in exchange for Houston’s Chase Budinger, my immediate reaction was similar to that of many Wolves fans: “What?! What is David Kahn thinking?! Leave it to Minnesota to trade our only first-round pick for a mediocre forward!” A bit of tongue in cheek: Admit it, Timberwolves fans. Kahn has let us down in the past, and we were all prepared to be up in arms about the soft-spoken GM’s latest decision. We’re accustomed to getting defensive, and we aren’t always “Minnesota nice” when it...

Plouffe Hopes to Sustain Power Numbers

The Twins are 22nd in the majors in run production and 26th in home runs. It’s no surprise to Minnesota fans that we are struggling to score runs. Harvin’s Holdout: Vikings Star WR Asks for Trade

Yesterday, Vikings WR Percy Harvin expressed frustration with “unspecified” team issues. Today, a source tells us Harvin is requesting a trade from Minnesota. Tuesday marked the first day of minicamp, and Harvin vocalized heavy discontentment with his current situation. “I just put it this way, there’s a lot of different things that have to be sorted out,” Harvin said. “Just haven’t been really happy lately. We’ve got a couple of things to work on. I’m here in the classroom. We’ll go from there.” The source of Harvin’s request is remaining anonymous because of the sensitivity of the situation. Although...

Everyday’s a Slugfest

The hits just keep coming for the Minnesota Twins. Every day Twins fans wake up to read another headline about another slug fest. 8-9. 11-7. 2-8. 11-3. 8-7. Those are the scoring lines for the last five games. A team who at one point scored 11 runs total in the first nine game of May is now putting up 11 runs in a single game. Regularly. They’re hitting the cover off the ball. Over the last five games alone the Twins have racked up 67 hits. They’ve tallied 22% of all their hits this season over the last 10...
