10 months after suffering a brutal knee injury, what would you be doing? Most of us would be limping around cautiously while still complaining about rehab. Adrian Peterson? Well, he’s 3rd in the NFL in rushing yards with 652 yards through 7 games, just 17 behind the leader, Arian Foster. Not bad for someone who should be taking it easy in recovery. Peterson dominated the Arizona Cardinals stout rush defense for 153 yards on 23 carries and a TD, en route to a Vikings victory. After the victory, he told the press simply, “I just did what I do.”
As he takes in a short recovery week preparing for the Thursday night game against Tampa Bay, AP found time to stop by PFT Live to discuss his comeback, his ankle, and the Vikings surprising start. He wants everyone on the team getting better and not to sit back on the 5 wins the Vikings have already tallied. It’s a long season and AP is not a young buck anymore. Now he’s one of the veterans on the offense. Peterson knows it’s a long season and Minnesota needs to keep improving. He also believes the Vikings record to date isn’t a mirage. In response to Mike Florio’s question on whether the Vikings are this good, AP succinctly responded, “It real.”
