The Twins have been in desperate need of pitching since Johan Santana departed for New York five years ago. Young hopefuls like Scott Baker and Nick Blackburn and veteran journeymen like Carl Pavano (among others) were supposed to bring in the new era of smart Twins pitching. They never did. Wild Goalie Josh Harding Diagnosed with MS

This September, Josh Harding began having neck problems. The neck issues were soon accompanied by dizziness, black spots in his vision, and numbness in his right leg. He knew something was wrong. After an MRI of his neck confirmed his symptoms, a brain scan found lesions later revealed to be from Multiple Sclerosis. The Wild confirmed today that Harding is undergoing treatment for the disease, which attacks the body’s immune system and affects the central nervous system. Jerry Kill’s struggle with seizures have been well documented. In 14 home games that he has coached at TCF Bank Stadium, Kill has suffered a seizure in three of them. His most recent bout at halftime of the Michigan State game last week kept him from the sideline for the rest of the game. The Golden Gophers are ranked 21st in the nation according to the most recent AP Top 25 poll. This is the first time the Gophers have found themselves ranked in nearly two years (January 31, 2011). Despite being overpowered by #5 Duke 89-71 in the Bahamas on Thanksgiving day, Minnesota finds themselves among the nation’s elite teams with wins over #19 Memphis and Stanford.
