In case you missed Adrian Peterson mic’d up in Week 17, enjoy this in anticipation of Saturday’s game. Just the grunting and hits alone are enough to enjoy the video, but the constant praise to his offensive line–Good work up front, fellas! Good work!–is what we’ve come to love about AP. (That and the 2,000 yard season.)
If you hate the Packers as much as we do, you might not like seeing the exchange he has with Aaron Rodgers:
AP: “How you doing man?”
Rodgers: “Not as good as you’re doing, man. You’re fun to watch bro.”
[Long pause to catch his breath.]
AP: “You the best too. You the best too. Yea, I’ve been saying that. Yes sir. Keep it up man.”
We’re hoping that long pause before AP’s reply wasn’t because he was actually catching his breath like it sounded, but instead was an awkward pause and he didn’t know what to say. (Yea, Rodgers, ummmm…you’re swell too!) We’re gonna assume that. It makes it much more fun to watch.
On the other hand, we did love hearing AP say, “I was determined. I need to play with more determination,” after another 20+ yard run down to the red zone. (Ummmmm…let’s just let him think that. It can’t hurt right?) You’re not determined enough AP. More determination!
Our favorite, though, was the exchange he had with Christian Ponder after AP’s 3rd quarter TD catch. Let’s just say that all of us over here at TCH were thinking the exact same thing in real time while watching this game. (“You better throw this ball!”)
A close second was the very brief exchange with the referee asking AP how many more yards he needs to break Eric Dickerson’s record. Someone tell that ref we’re fighting for our playoff lives!
Back to playoffs for the first time since 2009! Let’s go Vikes!
