Ryan Suter has yet to play a single minute with Minnesota, yet he has fans excited around Minnesota. Most of that is clearly because of his exceptional play on the ice, but fans also seem excited that his wife is from Bloomington and he’s back home in the Midwest. In an interview with NHL Tonight, Suter commented tongue-in-cheek that he has had to turn away his inlaws a few times because they are coming over to see the their son so often.
Later in the interview, Suter speaks to the adjustment he’s undergone moving to Minnesota and getting used to the new team. Suter says the team and organization have been great so far. His biggest adjustment, it seems, is finding a new place to have a pregame meal in his new town.
Most of the interview is typical for star athletes. Suter tends to give cookie cutter answers without going out on to limb, but he does comment on being in the State of Hockey. He knows he is now in a hockey market, especially compared to Nashville, and there are significant expectations the team has to live up to. He revels in the challenge and looks forward to proving he deserves his contract.

Beginning at the 46-second mark of the video, it breaks down the Wild’s potential as a playoff team. If they can remain healthy and avoid the injuries they had last season (395 games in all missed due to injury), the Wild should be poised to make a deep run in the NHL playoffs.
