A playoff hopeful team before the season started, the Wolves struggles without Kevin Love have been well documented this season. Losers of 7 of their last 10 and 18 of their last 22, the Wolves playoff chances are all but nil. Yet, despite this year likely being a lost season, Love still insists he wants to return to play this season and he plans on doing so in March. As the frigid Minnesota weather begins to thaw and the spring air smells of tournament time and playoffs, it will also smell of Love’s return this year. As for Love’s return, he told the Star Tribune that he plans to return this season.

“[My wrist is] progressively getting stronger,” Love said. “With the weights and with everything I’m doing to improve range of motion. Hopefully I’ll shoot the ball better this time.”

When asked if he will play this season, he said he thinks he will be and needs to be. “It’s very important,” he said of playing this season. “Just to get back with the full team, Chase [Budinger] included. Having a full roster, that’s the biggest thing for us.”

Budinger is recovering from knee surgery. He has missed the entire season and his return is expected in March as well.

It likely won’t make a difference, but having the team at full strength, even for one month, will be valuable moving forward.
