Colton Iverson Makes Five Players Gone

Minnesota Golden Gophers’ men’s basketball team lost center Colton Iverson this week due to defection. Iverson is the latest in an epidemic of defecting players in the last year: Royce White, Paul Carter, Justin Cobbs and Devoe Joseph. Everyone has been tight-lipped about Colton Iverson leaving Minnesota so far. The Gophers initially asked Iverson to reconsider his decision when he first asked for a release from his scholarship for his senior year. When he asked a second time, the Gophers granted his request with the stipulations that he cannot transfer to any Big Ten school or any team that...

With the...

The Greatest NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament Teams Ever ( Southeast Region)

1 North Carolina (2009) vs. 16 East Tennessee State (1989)   Paraphrasing a line from the movie Dazed and Confused, the North Carolina Tar Heels came to the 2009 NCAA tournament to do two things: drink some beer and kick some ass…and it looks like they ran out of beer just about the time their opening round game got going against Radford. The Heels destroyed their competition en route to the 2009 National Championship. It was one systematic beat down after another. To put their run in perspective, the lowest they scored for the tournament was 72...
